Printable Vintage Fashion Illustration for Altered Art, Graphic Design, Papercrafts or Scrapbooking: A Touch of Melancholy, 1893

I went to bed and woke in the middle of the night thinking I heard someone cry,
thinking I myself was weeping, and I felt my face and it was dry.

Then I looked at the window and thought: Why, yes, it's just the rain,
the rain, always the rain, and turned over, sadder still,
and fumbled about for my dripping sleep and tried to slip it back on.
Ray Bradbury, Green Shadows, White Whale

And I rose
In rainy autumn
And walked abroad in a shower of all my days...
Dylan Thomas, Collected Poems

Vintage Illustrated Template: Victorian Ladies at a Flower Festival 1

Celebrate who you are in your deepest heart.
Love yourself and the world will love you.
Amy Leigh Mercree

The dining room has been transformed into a fairy garden this evening.
Flowers are strewn across the long table ― magnolias, anemones, and roses ―
paired with hydrangea-and-peony centerpieces.
Long taper candles flicker over the display, complemented by the remaining sunlight.
A feast sprawls out from one end of the table to the other,
a medley of some of my favorites ― crab cioppino with bright tomatoes and red wine,
garlic bread flecked with parsley, linguine and clams swimming in broth,
seared abalone presented in its opalescent shell, fresh oysters on a bed of ice.
Kiana Krystle, Dance of the Starlit Sea

Printable Vintage Fashion Illustration for Collage, Junk Journal, Papercrafts or Scrapbooking: Victorian Ladies in Summer Wear, 1893

I know I am but summer to your heart, and not the full four seasons of the year.
Edna St. Vincent Millay

The first week of August hangs at the very top of summer,
the top of the live-long year,
like the highest seat of a Ferris wheel when it pauses in its turning.
The weeks that come before are only a climb from balmy spring,
and those that follow a drop to the chill of autumn,
but the first week of August is motionless, and hot.
It is curiously silent, too, with blank white dawns and glaring noons,
and sunsets smeared with too much color.
Natalie Babbitt, Tuck Everlasting

I think insomnia is a sign that a person is interesting.
Avery Sawyer, Notes to Self

Moments before sleep are when she feels most alive,
leaping across fragments of the day, bringing each moment into the bed with her
like a child with schoolbooks and pencils.
The day seems to have no order until these times,
which are like a ledger for her, her body full of stories and situations.
Michael Ondaatje, The English Patient

Fill your life with women that empower you,

Printable Fashion History Illustration: Beach Party, 1893

I thought of you and how you love this beauty,
And walking up the long beach all alone
I heard the waves breaking in measured thunder
As you and I once heard their monotone.

Around me were the echoing dunes, beyond me
The cold and sparkling silver of the sea --
We two will pass through death and ages lengthen
Before you hear that sound again with me.

Free Printable Vintage Illustration for Cardmaking, Journaling, Scrapbooking or Wall Art: Conversation in the Conservatory, 1857

It is a wise thing to be polite; consequently, it is a stupid thing to be rude.
To make enemies by unnecessary and willful incivility,
is just as insane a proceeding as to set your house on fire.
For politeness is like a counter ― an avowedly false coin,
with which it is foolish to be stingy.
Arthur Schopenhauer, The Wisdom of Life and Counsels and Maxims

Life is short, but there is always time enough for courtesy.
Ralph Waldo Emerson

Antique illustration originally published in 1857 showing two Victorian ladies in (one-sided?) conversation in a conservatory.
